"I come from an era in which abuse took place and I suppressed and denied my emotions. Shen therapy has taught me a safe way to release my blockages and repair the past and to live in the present. Laura, my shen therapist very gently and non judgementally supported me to reveal my pain that was locked away since I was a child. I could not reveal it to anyone because I believed I had to understand... I did not own who I was, I was allowing pain and trauma from the past to impact on the present. I took four shen sessions and I experienced grief, loss, guilt, visions of the root of my pain and saw colours. Afterwards I would feel very light for a few days, then I cried a lot but I knew this was a healing process. Then I would relax and become focussed and felt empowered. The abuse had stopped me interacting and now, since the shen therapy, I find it easy to interact, and judgement of myself and from others is less of a big deal. I have discovered it's ok to be me."

There are some beautiful modalities that can help you shift your body and your emotions when you feel like you have cognitively processed the living daylights out of your stress, yet it still remains a challenge.

Sometimes it may be trauma in the past that you know in your mind you have dealt with and made peace with or moved on from, but your unconscious mind still wrestles with. Or it may be comparatively little things.

Our body goes through everything with us, and despite our head moving on, sometimes our body is stuck in the past.

"I really had very little idea of what to expect on the oneness awakening course. The whole weekend was an amazing experience - one that is not easy to put into words! Amongst other things, we meditated, danced, laughed and cried. During each of the guided meditations that Laura led, I found myself reaching inwards visiting spaces deep within me that felt foreign and yet vaguely familiar. I experienced so many emotions, but most of all an overwhelming sense of calm and peace. Something in me changed.

That was a few weeks ago; since the Awakening course things have continued to change. My mind is so much calmer and clearer, I require less sleep, have more energy, eat less and things just seem to fall into place with little effort. I feel a much greater connection with my body, nature and other people. Life looks (and feels)different.

"I have been a "spiritual workshop junkie" and have been on a spiritual quest for nearly 20 years. I have been to the pyramids in Mexico, have done year of Shamanic apprenticeship and have read countless spiritual books and am writing my own. Despite all this work, spirituality was merely a concept in my mind.

I first met Laura and her husband Jim at Convergence, a spiritual festival near Christchurch. Their tent next to mine. They seemed to always be laughing and having the time of their life until all hours of the night. They spoke to each other and to their children with love and respect, and I often wondered what they were smoking! Toward the end of the week I found out about the Oneness Blessing and that they "coincidentally" live just a few kilometers from me near Nelson. So I went to a few Oneness blessing groups and noticed that the people looked different - more peaceful.

Much of the reading I had been doing seemed to say that Heaven is perfect Oneness. Since I wanted to find Heaven, it seemed only logical to me to sign up for the Oneness Awakening Course thinking it would help me understand Oneness and Heaven.

I was greatly surprised that the weekend was almost all experiential and involved several guided meditations. During one of the meditations, I had an experience of being at One with the Universe, and experienced Overwhelming Love and compassion for everyone. I felt there was a deep and meaningful purpose for everyone and everything.

Later, we did an open eye meditation, in which I felt a connection and a Oneness with nature without an individual me looking at it. After that, we did our oneness blessing giver initiation ceremony. Leading up to the ceremony, I felt a sense of loss. I cried with the sense of experiencing the death to the person I thought I was. The ceremony was one that felt like a rebirth and a reconnection to my True Self that is One with everything. Though I continued crying for a while after the ceremony, I felt a huge shift.

In the past when I had huge shifts, major dramas would arise in my life that knocked me out of balance. I would then slowly slide back into my ordinary state of being. After this weekend, although I had similar dramas, I experienced them from a place of peace and calmness. Even though it is now about one month after the weekend, I have had more and more experiences of Oneness and these experiences are getting deeper and deeper.

Something major seems to have shifted in my life after the Oneness weekend and I feel there is no turning back.

Great to meet you last Tuesday and thank you for looking at our house. We have put into place a number of your recommendations and are working on the others . With the changes that we have done so far the atmosphere in the house has changed dramatically - it is calmer and more restful and feels more a "home" than a house - this of course reflects on us as we feel calmer and more relaxed and able to cope with life.

"I've always been interested in Feng Shui but had trouble coming to grips with the concept from the little I did read - it all sounded far too complicated! After reading Laura's Nelson Mail article, curiosity got the better of me and I gave her a call - it would be interesting to see if she could do something about the constant chaos in our house! Using a to scale plan of our home and a compass Laura established exactly which areas related to which life areas and then using what we had, taking into account my likes and dislikes, we rearraranged items to fit more appropriately with the various elements and my desires. Laura actually gave me the confidence to do things I wanted to do and now when I'm buying something for the house, I have a much more defined idea of what I want. I guess for the sceptics amongst us, there's no way of really proving that Feng Shui has made the difference - but I can honestly say that since Laura's visit I enjoy our home more and my career has gone forward in leaps and bounds. "When I first contacted Laura, my husband of fifty four years had been dead just three years. I felt his presence in the house for over a year, also once at the cemetery which I found very difficult. I needed help with this one and so I contacted a Spiritualist. She told me he was trying to tell me to be happy and move on with my life. As time progressed I joined different clubs and learned to play Bridge. I had quite a social life, my family were very happy for me, but to me I was just filling in time and space.
